Attempting to go back to business as usual is not good enough, because business as usual is shit for basically everyone, too.
The Paris Climate agreement is nowhere near enough to combat climate change, which reached a point of no return decades ago which cannot be reversed without a massive change in the way we do things.
Western culture is not sustainable. The way we farm is not sustainable. The way our public transportation is built is not sustainable. Our military is not sustainable.
Medicare for all is not affordable healthcare. It's a Milquetoast measure designed to placate the liberals in the democratic party base. It will not lead to better outcomes for people. So long as systems of insurance are allowed to exist and healthcare is not complete socialized people will continue to suffer and die needlessly of preventable and combatable diseases.
Rejoining the WHO and a public mask mandate is nowhere near good enough. We need rent forgiveness now. We need people to be paid 2,000$ monthly checks now. We need to stop rounding up the homeless, we need to release all people in ICE concentration camps, we need to release all inmates in jails on dumb charges. None of these people deserve the covid, or housing conditions to which they are subjected on a bi-partisan basis by the US government.
We need complete debt forgiveness, and we need free - not "low cost" and "affordable", but *free* - housing yesterday. There are more than enough homes to comfortable house all of America's homeless. And there is more than enough money owned by the rich to feed them.
Absolutely nothing that Biden has done or seems to plan on doing is good enough for any of the existential crises facing us. And until he takes real action I will condemn him just as harshly as Trump.
