At the end of the most recent episode (#1570 with Drew Lynch) Marc plays highlights of the history of the show including Keith Richards, Barack Obama and yes... Gallagher. I've heard the episode before, of course, but it's been quite some time and I always remembered the "You're done? We were having a good conversation" and then "Come on, Gallagher" as he storms off. Something about the way that Marc says it makes me laugh so hard, literally tears are in my eyes. It's so sad and kind of pathetic, but also, the situation is so utterly ridiculous and Gallagher himself was such an absurd nightmare of a human being (rest in peace). It was such a meeting of like, 'comedian as artist' versus 'comedian as huckster'. Like how else was that going to end up going?
There's just so much in those three little words. It's hilarious and sad and represents such a profound gulf that can exist between people.
Come on, Gallagher....
