Disclaimer: I'm super prepared to eat my words after this one. Also, this post has major spoilers for all 3 ML seasons so far, but you probably already knew that.
The Oceanics are looking really strong this season. They've been the only team to be in the lead for 4 events in a very contested season, however, that may just be their downfall. Historically, the dominant team has never won the MarbleLympics.
In 2016, Thunderbolts were undoubtedly the dominant team. They were in the lead for a total of 6 events out of 12, and went into the final event with the lead. Savage Speeders, Mellow Yellow, Team Momo were tied for second right behind them (Speeders had more gold medals so I'll just say that they were in second). After the 12th event, Thunderbolts lost it out to the team that was in second, the Speeders.
Fast forward to 2017, and Savage Speeders were the dominant team this time around, holding the lead for 7 events total out of the 12. This time around only one other team was capable of beating them, the O'rangers, and they had a sizeable lead over them, there's no way they could've lost itbut they fucking did.
So, if history repeats itself again, the Oceanics will lose this season if they stay in first place. The Oceanics definitely have the skills to take home the gold this time around, but they need to be in second place in the standings after hockey.
