Good day everyone . I've trained long and hard for my first half marathon that's on the 24th (2 days away). I've also been running consistently 3 to 5 days a week since March .
However, yesterday morning I woke up to full blown epileptic attacks and vestibular migraines . Now , running is completely out of the question since I can't even move at all without suffering with deabilating attacks.
So , my question is should I wait to make a full recovery , ease back into running and then run a half before year end ? Should I just fully recover , start running consistently again and run a half next year and start my training plan from scratch again? If I'm feeling well on Sunday should I just show up and run it ? ( however I have not done any carboloading, have been eating and drinking almost nothing, to the point of actually having no bowel movements . But I figured since nutrition and hydration is so poor , I'll just run a few km of it . Im really heartbroken over this , as i know realistically there is absolutely no way I could even move 10m if I'm not well .
I'm also on a heavy steroidal stat dosage and anti seizure medication to try and stop the episode as soon as possible.
(For reference, my longest run just before taper was 2hr 30 and I covered 18km. The cutoff for half was 3.5 hrs )
