Need some feedback on a training plan I put together for my upcoming marathon. Subject to change as I usually train with a run club. Any and all advice/tips/criticism welcome! The goal is sub 4 hours, but ideally somewhere closer to 3:50. FYI I have signed up for both races put in this plan already :)
Running background: 25M. Been running for about 10 years, mostly as conditioning for tennis. Nothing longer than3 miles before. Started seriously training for races for about 3 years, with the times listed below as my PB's. Have only ran 1 marathon, 2 half's, two 10k's, and one 5k. I do track workouts/hill workouts/speed sessions once a week and keep all my other runs pretty slow. Injured before with the R knee, and some shin splints but I come from a physical therapy background so I can take care of these things relatively quickly and effectively. That being said, I ran my marathon 1 month out from a hamstring pull and had to pull out from my half marathon that I was supposed to run the following week I was injured.
Marathon: 4:28:23 (March, 2024)
Half Marathon: 1:55:50 (October, 2023)
10K: 52:06 (April, 2023)
5K: 21:54 (August, 2024)
