Post Body

How long has it been since I made one of these, eh? When I first started SitReps were my main way of interacting with the community. They were largely ignored, much as I was for most of my time here. Not all of it, mind. I've had some amazing times here. I've met some amazing people here. Made some amazing friends. But it's time for it to end.

As the old saying goes "nothing good lasts forever". I've been here for long enough that I've forgotten if I'm closer to one year or two. Definitely at least a year and a half. I've never really been shy about airing out how hectic my life is. Everything is always fine until it's not, and then it's super not fine. But that's been my entire life, so I'm used to it and know how to juggle it. But it gets tiring. Especially when you're on the back end of things. I won't speak too much of that though, there's been enough bullshit this week already.

I've been here through my scared little newcomer phase, I became a jaded veteran, I worked on the mod team, I roleplayed with the community, I shared useless fish facts, I road through the constant rollercoasters of cum cows and stables of gooners of mass beggers of so many other ups and downs. This place has become a large part of me. And that's a problem.

I've been putting off too much in my own life to be here. I've been bottling up too many emotions that encompass the sub as well as my actual life. I've allowed this place to latch into me too hard and I need to rip the hooks out.

I'll be putting this account on hiatus until further notice. I won't be leaving reddit. I just won't use this account for a while. A couple months at least. Maybe I'll come back. Maybe as a soldier, maybe I'll reapply for mod. Whatever I do, it's not a point of focus for me right now.

Thank you, everyone, for all the fun times we've had together. There's too many people for me to tag all of them. Too many conversations, too many roleplays, too many goofy jokes, too many good memories for me to break them down and thank everyone individually. The entire community has been nothing less than amazing the entire time I've been here, even through the multiple shit storms we've weathered. Just, thank you. All of you.

A special thanks must be given to all of the mods I've had the pleasure of interacting with during my time here. Those that came before me, and those I personally worked with or even welcomed to the team recently. Modding this place is nothing less than trial by fire and you all do and have done so much more for this community than you get credit for. I truly am sorry for stepping down when my tenure was so short. I wish you all the best of luck in the future.

And now to end this thing. I know I always used to end my SitReps with a question to the community about how they were doing. I ended my fish facts with jokes or what I thought were witty quips. I'll be ending this one with a word of advice. No matter how long you've been here or how well you think you can handle it all, take a break. Make it a week, make it two. Take a month if need be, you might find you need it after the first week. As much as we try to prevent it and steer away from it, porn addiction is still a thing that can happen here. It just creeps up slower than in other places. It can seep it's way in deeper and faster than you think. Even if it's not the porn you enjoy, roleplay and teasing can be just as bad. Safety has always been the main concern in this community. Make sure you're keeping yourself safe as well.
