Hey everyone!
I love traveling with simple well-made non-technical bags, generally in materials like waxed canvas and leather (I’m living for my dark academia era), and I’m seeking some recommendations for brands that have a similar focus on leather and waxed canvas like Trakke and Rough & Tumble Design.
I’ve heard of Waterfield Designs / SF Bags, but as a woman in her early-30s, they aren’t as cute.
It’s also important to me that the bags are made ethically, locally made in whatever country the company is based in, and would prefer a small team with fair wages, and all that good stuff. I am not interested in companies that are owned by Americans and then produced and manufactured in another country (looking at you Portland Leather Company and Saddleback Leather Co.). And while Saddleback Leather seems interesting, the "About Us" story the founder posted on their website is really, really, really cringe (lots about his hot wife and God leading him to have Africans manufacture the bags, whom they call their African kids, but I digress).
Cost is less of a factor for me since I’m willing to spend the money on long lasting quality items. But again, not looking for anything technical, no X-Pac or any other techie materials, and dark colors are preferred!
Know of any other brands that might fit this bill? They don’t have to be exclusively American, can be from any place in the world. Thank you very much in advance!
