I’m very new to stick like a week in but loving it. Got a 2000 dodge ram 2500 manual that I’ve been learning on. Haven’t done any highway driving but just around the city.
Typically when driving I’ll get up to 3rd gear and stay in there. When I come up to a stop sign I’ll come to a stop and while sitting still shift down to second cause I find it eaiser to get moving from there, once I get moving I’ll shift back up to third. Stop lights when I get To the stop line I’ll shift from 3rd to neutral and coast up the rest of the way. When it turns green I’ll usually be starting out back in first and working back up to three. So with how I drive I almost never downshift while on the move, is this a normal way of doing it? I’m fully self taught never had anyone to show me so I’m sure I’m making mistakes but loving it so far.
