I have a second partition I am trying to do a fresh install of Manjaro on. The goal is to slowly move over to the new install and eventually clear the original partition and try a new distro. I should say, this is all because I screwed up permissions and don't trust my current install. But i'd like to slowly move stuff over because I have yet to document my VFIO setup and this is a nice opportunity to do so while having a working machine.
I use the architecture installer, and I go through all the steps. But it consistently hangs on the boot loader grub os... checker (sorry can't remember the name) install step. The latest instance, I left it for an hour while I did chores to make sure it was hanging lol.
The working Manjaro install has it's own boot/uefi parititon and it works fine. The new install of Manjaro only prompts me to select the entire ssd that has all the partitions on it to install grub during the bootloader step. Should I be mounting the boot partition as /boot during the mounting step? Or should I not be installing the bootloader at all on this second install? What is the best way to get both of these to show up on grub?
The ssd in question looks like this:
part1: boot - 512mb
part2: Original Manjaro - 25gb
part3: New Manjaro - 25gb
part4: /home 900ish - gb
Thank you for you time again!
