After attracting NPD or various types of manipulators my whole life, I can say I've learned to spot the signs & red flags quite well - either from reading or reflecting back on personal experiences.
It's as if to live one must be a robot, void of emotions & reactions, constantly mindful of what personal information is shared. Careful of reactions from button pushers. Pausing before acting when angry. Pretending that something doesn't bother you when it does.
Greyrock is almost a constant state where even smiling & showing happiness needs to be hidden - for it can attract negative types whose sole purpose is to destroy.
The dead eyes the evil laugh the empty shells of bodies that encompass evil are everywhere. Even having this awareness is not enough to escape the damage these types succeed in.
Slander, triangulation, smear campaigns - if they can't control the person they attempt to control what's around the person.
Always set emotions aside & evaluate who is around you, who is a friend, and who should be kept at a distance - for there is evil in this world, and the devil has many faces.
