So around a year ago I got an invite to a watch party for a new film that Hayao Miyazaki had worked on. This baffled both me and the person I was with because we both remembered him dieing in 2015 a little while after Satoru Iwata. We vividly remembered seeing art dedicated to him and tributes for him everywhere at the time. In the reality we remember the film "When Marnie Was There" didn't come out until 2016 because he was too sick to work on it so his team took the time to finish it in his honor after his death. I started asking other people if they remembered him dieing and most of them said he did, even bringing up some of the tributes and how his team had to finish the movie without him before I ever mentioned those parts to them. My little sister asked around to her friends, one even remembered doing an art tribute for his death, but couldn't find any bit of the art they had worked on. It's just really weird to me that so many people remember this but apparently he's still alive. Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid follower and a big fan of his work, so I'm grateful that he's alive and that I get to enjoy more of it, but from how closely I follow his work and with how big of a fan I am it seems like this is way more than just about 30 people mis remembering something so I wanted to come on here and see if anyone else remembers him dieing.
