From my perspective, I think being a mandalorian is largely about identity, in the sense that a mandalorian is someone who chooses to identify as such and live out the ideals of mandalorian culture. The Armor and weapons are important, yes, but i think we've seen both from warrior and pacifist mandalorians, that those aren't the core of what makes someone, mandalorian. Which is one of the reasons i personally have always felt very off about the cult of the children of the watch, though their other qualities I think are very admirable.
I think the core ideals are loyalty, to your family, clan, and people as a whole. Being able to fight when necessary, but not necessarily wanting to seek out a fight. Being willing to challenge yourself to be better, but not taking that desire too far in a need to prove yourself. The last bit I believe, I the lesson of the mythosaur, in that they were hunted to extinction by mandalorians wanting to prove themselves.
Anyhow, those are my thoughts, what are yours?
