Against all odds, Erik Ten Hag has ended up having a fantastic first season with Manchester United, considering the kind of squad that he had at his disposal throughout the season. There were ups, there were downs, there was heartbreak, there was adulation, but from the looks of it, when all is said and done by June, Erik Ten Hag will have succeeded all expectations that had been levied upon him at the start of the ongoing season.
And while the next season is bound to bring to the table many more sources of uncertainty than the ongoing one, like the potential sale of the club, or lack thereof, and the club's ability to be competitive in the transfer market consequently, expectations management becomes more important than ever.
As a result, United fans, if all goes reasonably well in the next few months, and even if they don't to satisfactory extents, describe your expectations from the team for the 2023-24 season! How well do you expect the team to fare in the following aspects?
- Premier League
- UEFA Champions League
- FA Cup
- Carabao Cup
- FA Community Shield (if the FA Cup is won next month)
- Level of competitiveness against opposition like Manchester City, Liverpool etc.
- Ability to play Ten Hag ball
- Number of goals scored/conceded in the season
- Number of players featuring in Best Teams' lists
- Whatever else you can think of
I am looking forward to the opinions of all United fans! GGMU. :)
