I can no longer take care of my dog due to his severe separation anxiety. I previously tried to give him up but the person that wanted him gave me way too much time to change my mind and also had another dog in the home (which I was a lot worried about). I thought I could make it work but I find myself just as frustrated as I was. Iām looking to give him up as soon as today, I just want a better life for him. Iām in the Keller area. Iām way too busy and he just cries all the time Iām not around. He was prescribed trazodone but that barely helped. I started getting a dog sitter which costs $35 each time. I spent about $200 last month. He canāt go to daycare because he doesnāt do well with any other pets. My bank account is suffering due to his issues, but so is my heart and his too. I start work full time in May and I canāt see how this is feasible (Iām in college right now getting my masterās)
Please donāt recommend a shelter, I want a home for him. You will be a good fit for him if you have a family, no dogs or cats, and one person is typically in the home most times. Only way a household with a dog would work is if they are a similar size. He is good with kids too, he loves to play! He was born September 26th 2022, he was just vaccinated last month for parvo, influenza, heartworm, canāt remember the last two but essentially the standard. I have his negative heartworm test. He loves to play fetch and tug of war, he is extremely silly and playful. He knows how to sit, lay down, jump. He listens to ācome hereā. He is completely potty trained, only time I have issues is when I leave him alone.
Please let me know if you are interested, DMs are open, or comment here. There is no fee associated with adopting him, all I ask is that you give me an item I can remember him with, like a candle, or anything, just something cheap that tells me about who you are and what you like, that way I can hold on to that knowing he is safe. I donāt think it will be good to keep any of his belongings. Please check my profile to see pictures of him (ignore other posts)
TL;DR: I have a 1 year old maltipoo with severe separation anxiety that I can no longer care for *I know I have made a similar post.
