Long time lurker but now I finally get to post.
So we just had a meeting with our higher ups saying we have to start using the proper totes for the parts. Well we are facing a tote shortage for who knows why and because of this we've started taking the inserts out of the totes and just putting parts in the bare totes to keep production moving. We were specifically told to not do this anymore and if we are unable to find totes for a part to tel the supervisor and work on a different part.
So I'm here mandated to work 6 hours this Sunday while we yet again have no totes. I told my supervisor about it he said okay and I said I'd switch to a different job. He said "No I really need that one job". So here I sit for hours doing absolutely nothing on a Sunday afternoon making double time because I have no totes to put parts in and I'm not allowed to switch to a different job.
Thanks management I love you guys....
Update: after continously bugging my supervisor for totes he finally had a skid of them pulled from storage. No idea why it took this long to do it but whatever at least I can work again.
