Hoods priest?

Post Body

So in the prologue we have this priest of hood that is naked walking through the streets, at the very start we are given things from his perspective and it does not seem that he thinks of himself as anything more than a priest. Unless it’s hood being an unreliable narrator to deliberately trick the reader it really seems as if this is a priest.

Then we cut to Felisins perspective, and after a stunning and disgusting performance the flies swarm away and reveal to us there is nobody beneath them. Now the characters presume that Hood himself had visited them but based on that priests perspective earlier in the prologue this is hard to believe.

My thoughts are that Hood sacrificed his own priest or perhaps the blessing that Hiboric has destroyed the priest. I haven’t been able to find any real conclusion on the truth behind this incident.

What are people’s thoughts or is this revisited later? I figure the gods are supposed to be some of the harder mysteries to figure out in the books so I also guess that sometimes these sort of scenarios will be left ambivalent for us to wonder upon?

This has been bothering me since I started DG and I need to know if I’ll at least eventually get an answer
