Generation gap vs movie likeness

We have movie nights every weekend and watch movies with full family including my older parents (60 ). We saw Jaya jaya jayhe everybody liked it but older parents "enna panna padam aa", same for mukundan unni associates, #home, kaathal the core, bramayugam. Its either bore movie or panna padam or kaashinu kollilla. Are you guys seeing the same thing at your place where the older generation doesnt like the current trending movies? Literally they liked monster and arattu 😳
