I think about this case often, probably more than is healthy. But in all candor, I'm not embarrassed by my incessant curiosity about the crime; I'm embarrassed about the way I think about it.
Whenever it comes to mind, I don't think about Teresa Halbach or Steven Avery first, I think about Brendan Dassey. The interview at the police station where they're explicitly feeding him information and he asks if he'll make it back for 6th period, remains etched in my mind. I feel for the Halbach family but I can't help but think about Brendan as equally a victim. The 'justice' system in Wisconsin failed with flying colors and stole a boy who needed help from those who were willing to provide it.
You're clearly not an attorney but do you know any other Latin legal phrases? Mens rea? nolo contendere?
