So, it's been a while, y'all.
I've been doing not great mentally and still would say I'm not, but I'm trying. That leads us to today, wherein I realize I just get all this stuff and I never use it.
I have a Boxycharm subscription (I've actually used or given away all this month's items because I'm done wasting products!), I also subscribe to EarFleek (it's like $3 a month and I get a cute pair of earrings I can wear without breaking out since I'm sensitive to nickel!). I enjoy both for the surprise element but realistically I don't really wear many earrings much and I don't ever wear makeup because I'm just mentally not in a great place and never have been. My mind is cluttered and I want to mostly just sleep and veg out and work.
I'm starting a new program mid-July to become a doula. I want to better myself, help others, be happier, be healthier. So I'm going after that goal, and I'm SUPER excited to transition into a new career where I can hopefully be able to provide better for myself. :)
I'm cancelling my Boxycharm, and my Boxyluxe. FOMO isn't enough to continue spending money like this. I argue that $25 a month isn't so bad for some stuff that makes me happy. But the Boxyluxe is going in a weird direction, and I'm not sure I need any 'lifestyle' products or really ANY products whatsoever that I'm not purchasing in a store I can see/touch/decide for myself. I don't NEED this to be happy, I can go SPEND $25 and be happier than the box makes me for ten minutes of my life, once a month.
I might keep the earring subscription, but that remains to be seen if I can find some better storage for them.
In the coming weeks I plan to heavily go through my makeup and pare down as well. I've accumulated a fair amount of hair products recently because I am stress-shedding hair like mad, but I don't need any more since I have plenty as it is. I'm going to get rid of some palettes and really take inventory of what I need/want/will actually use. I just gave away a Boxycharm box of things (all actual Boxy items, too) to my best friend's niece, who is 14 and a troubled teen and on crutches/a walker due to some recent issues. All unused items, I think I had only swatched the palette once and everything else was sealed or never opened. I also included some sheet masks for her to do with her family, as something to maybe help give them something to do together that was a healthy self-care type of thing.
I'll be happy to give some items away, donate what is unopen/unexpired and give to family and friends things that are used but still functional, not expired, etc. I want someone to get good use of the makeup that I'm not using, and I want to learn to do minimal but still pretty looks for when I'm in a hurry but still want to look put-together.
Next up, getting rid of all these clothes! \^-^
