I just pulled 6 items from my current makeup collection that have NO expiration number on them whatsoever. There is no little pot with a number, and I know they are all significantly old.
Only one of the items has a year on it, and it's 2006. I mean, alright, it is eye shadow, but.. why is this even in my makeup to begin with. Why am I holding on to something that is so old, when I can replace it with something that won't potentially hurt my eyes?
I know eye shadows last for a lot longer than the measly 6-12, maybe 18 months they're labelled for. But after 12 years, I'm pretty sure I've either gotten my money's worth out of it or I can justify getting a new one.
Also, all the eye shadows (there are 5 total) are sparkly. I don't even LIKE heavy sparkle, and I definitely don't like the sort of shimmers that tend to really stick around on the skin as these all do. 3 of them are MAC permanent colors. I can replace them if I wish. I haven't worn any of these in so long I don't even know when the last time was.
I've also found tons of things I won't ever use or that can be regifted (hair stuff, body sprays, makeup brushes, etc) or donated.
