So apparently it's my 2 year Ultaversary, and they're offering me 5x points on every purchase through the end of the week. I'm trying to be on a low-buy/skincare-only schedule this month, but at the same time, I'm so close to 2000 points at Ulta (200 points away), which I would really like to have for some of my next planned purchases (a highlighter and bronzer/contour plus a couple brushes). But now with the points multiplier, I could get most of my spring purchases now and be set until summer. All my summer planned purchases are replacement items so I can't even be tempted to buy them early. I'm not really an impulse shopper, in fact I'm a little scared to try things I haven't researched thoroughly, I'm just trying to fill some holes in my arsenal. I don't own any highlight, contour, or bronzing products, but I do sometimes find myself wishing I had that little extra something for special occasions / looks, especially with all the dark lip looks I'm doing lately where I feel like a little contour would make my skin look less washed out.
Edit for clarity: the highlight/contour products are not the only things on my planned list, but I don't want to buy everything just because POINTS and then end up going overboard now and later with the 2000 points cash out. I could theoretically clear out most of my planned purchase list for the rest of the year, but that's not very realistic. There will probably be releases later this year that catch my eye, and then I won't actually have saved any money, will I?
Should I wait and skip the 5x points? Should I pull the trigger and work on a no-buy until summer? BAH, HUMBUG.
