Need advice. What's the next step down, coverage-wise, from Dermacol foundation? Illamasqua? Double Wear? Something else? Needs to be a liquid or a cream. This is a big decision for me. TW: Talk of mental health struggles. Long post.
Post Body

So to start this off, I feel like I should explain that I have body dysmorphic disorder, and one of my fixations/triggers is my skin. I swear I have orange-peel skin and the most uneven skin tone in the history of skin tones. So needless to say, I like to exert full control over the way my skin looks.

This comes in the form of using literally the most full-coverage foundation on the market - Dermacol. And I don't just slap on a few dots and spread it around. I work line by line, section by section, applying a little at a time with my finger until my whole face is done. I have to make absolutely sure I have FULLY covered every last pore to the max. I love the end result, but it takes forever. I've gotten it down to 35 to 40 minutes, but that's just for one layer of foundation and powder alone.

And to be honest, I'm so over how tedious the process is. I don't even get to the "fun" stuff like eyeshadow most of the time because the foundation took so long. What I'd like to be able to do is learn to use a beauty blender and just bounce my foundation around and be done with the whole thing in 10 minutes but still be fully covered. Is that possible?

So I could continue to use Dermacol and then all I'd need to do is buy a beauty blender. But I also feel like my skin is possibly not the nightmare I think it is, and that maybe I don't quite need Dermacol-level coverage like I think I do. So maybe I should change my foundation and try a step down in terms of coverage. Not a light coverage foundation, mind you . . . and maybe not even a medium coverage foundation. But just the next step down from Dermacol. This is a scary step for me to be taking, but I might just be ready.

A few things to note:

-- My skin type is oily.-- I don't like compact, pan, or stick formulations. The oil from my skin transfers and I just end up with an oily, soggy mess.-- No RCMA. The formula doesn't work on me, even when I put it on the back of my hand to warm it up.-- I don't need skin care help. I follow SkinCareAddiction religiously and have perfected my routine.

Thanks, everyone!
