Really soft mascara, like Maybelline Mega Plush but cruelty-free?

Hey, all! My favorite mascara is Maybelline Mega Plush. Unfortunately, it's not cruelty free, so once I finish the last tube that was gifted to me (so, probably a couple of months from now), I want to try and find a dupe or something similar.

The reason I like it so much is that it leaves my eyelashes super soft, almost like I'm not wearing mascara at all. This is important because I have long (but pale) lashes, and they brush the inside of my glasses when I blink. Crunchier mascaras leave smudges and drive me insane, so I need something soft.

Does anyone have ideas for a cruelty-free dupe, or something that sounds pretty close? I'd like to keep it under $20, if possible, but I'm flexible on that.
