I'm starting to question my use of Dermacol, but I don't know what foundation could compare, coverage-wise. Let's talk.
Post Body

Hello all,

So I am a coverage addict. I dealt with severe cystic acne for like 12 years. I had to go on Accutane twice, and I eventually learned that it was caused by hormonal issues. I have no more acne, but the damage has been done. I have body dysmorphic disorder, and now I have to deal with an orange peel texture and splotchiness, almost like a stain. It's not a rash, and I've tried everything that SkinCareAddiction has suggested for years. But because of my hormonal issues (which I am currently working on treating) the texture and splotchiness remain. So I need all the coverage I can get.

So what do I do? I go line by line, working in small sections at a time, and apply Dermacol all over, to absolutely cover every enlarged pore and every nook and cranny of skin. It takes 45 minutes JUST for foundation.

Boy is it ever tedious! I love the end result, though. I'm totally covered up. But it takes forever. I'd love to just spend 5 minutes on foundation using a beauty blender and "normal" foundation. But I'm afraid my skin isn't good enough for that.

Still, lately I've been curious about trying something that is a "step down" from Dermacol, coverage-wise. Could it be that I don't need quite as heavy coverage as I think I do?? I just don't know what a good "step down" product would be. I can't use Dermablend, RCMA, or stick foundations. I thought about trying Revlon ColorStay 24 hour foundation, but the coverage doesn't seem to be all that impressive. I also considered I am Magic foundation, but I don't know much about it. I don't know. Maybe I'll never be happy with anything but Dermacol.

For reference my skin is pretty light - oftentimes the lightest shade is still too dark. I am also oily. i'm ready to hear your recommendations, if there are any. Thanks!
