So I'm super excited. I finally got Dermacol!
There are a few reasons why this is such a big deal to me:
The first reason is time. See, I am obsessed with coverage. I had severe cystic acne for 12 years, and it became my daily mission to make my skin look as good as possible with the cheap makeup I could afford. After a long, convoluted fight lasting several years, my skin looks a lot better, but I have other coverage needs now. And that obsession with coverage never went away. I have to have every tiny flaw 110% covered all the time.
Because of all of that, I have a daily makeup routine that takes forever. After skin prep, I apply foundation in little sections at a time until my whole face is covered. Then, I stipple/blend concealer onto tiny sections at a time until my whole face is covered. After that, I set with powder. That way, I cover as much as possible while using as little product as possible. The end result is great, but it literally takes over an hour just for the skin makeup. Because Dermacol is 50% pigmented, the coverage is unbelievable. I could potentially condense everything down to just one step then take 2 minutes to set it with powder. On a sort of side note, I have limited time with my boyfriend every weekend, and I like the idea of spending it with him rather than wasting tons of time in the bathroom applying makeup. Everything about this is just really great.
The second reason is money. My old method not only takes forever, but it uses a lot of product, too. I use up everything a lot faster, and that gets expensive. My income is sporadic at best (I am not garnering sympathy - please don't delete this post!). So it's a struggle. Dermacol covers a lot more with a lot less product, so it lasts a lot longer. Plus, when I need more, I only have to buy one product for coverage, not two. That's even more savings.
The third reason is color. I'm excited because I am really pale. To give you an idea, my L'Oreal True Match in n1 is about a shade too dark. But I just kind of have to make it work, because its the best I can do with my budget. Dermacol has a really pale shade - shade 208 - and i can't wait to try it. (With that in mind, persons of color have it ten times worse than me, and I fully recognize that).
I've had my eye on Dermacol for months, and I did a lot of research. The official website is nothing but a catalog of products, and there are a lot of counterfeit products floating around. I eventually found this post, and I was finally on the right track.
Then, I woke up one day and saw a few fraudulent charges on my PayPal account. Once everything was said and done and finalized, I ended up with some extra money in my account, and figured it was now or never. I ordered from Pinkbox7 on eBay, and it's coming all the way from Prague, Czech Republic. I have to wait 11 more days for it to arrive, and I can't wait. I just hope pinkbox7 continues to sell legitimate Dermacol products until the end of time. And I hope Dermacol stays on well, matches my skin tone, and eliminates the additional step. Because this is my favorite.
