Apologies because this is long, lol. :) I had a great experience with MUG customer service!
I got an email a few days ago about a Makeup Geek order that I had placed. I've only ordered from them a couple of times and was pretty sure I had received all my items, but since I have a compulsive shopping habit I have plenty of boxes that are yet to be opened (ala youtube unboxing videos, jeez..).
They had said they received my shipment back, everything looked correct and they were referencing an email for an order I had placed, so I confirmed my address to them and they said they would get it sorted out.
Now, a few things happened here;
A.) I didn't realize/pay attention to the fact that they were calling me someone else's name.
B.) I didn't realize ONE single number in the order was transposed, so that is obviously the initial mix-up that had me getting an email for someone else's order!
C.) I didn't think to clarify anything further, and blindly gave my info over since they were emailing a copy of an email I had received from MUG when my order was placed.
Eventually I had some free time over the weekend and I went over the details further. I emailed them asking if this was correct, since I had yet to open my latest shipment from them but was almost positive I had received it (I went and found it and finally opened it, just to be sure..). I mentioned that I didn't want whoever actually ordered product to miss out, and that I was happy to help in any way possible if this was the case.
I received an email from a lovely lady named Amanda who was super apologetic and admitted that yes, the customer service representative that had initially emailed me had transposed a number and mistakenly emailed me instead of the actual customer they were trying to reach!
She mentioned how sorry she was for the confusion, and how she appreciated my assistance in ensuring that my package had arrived safely. I confirmed this, and she then informed me that she was having a bit of a gift sent over to me for catching the mistake and being so gracious in dealing with it!
I -LOVE- Makeup Geek. I love that Marlena's niceness is 100% ingrained in the company, and that they truly go above and beyond the call of duty as far as customer service goes.
I received 3 items; a shadow in Glamorous, a shadow in Early Bird and an eyeliner in Espresso.
