Anyone else have trouble with Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR foundation?
Post Body

Okay, so I usually use L'Oreal True Match foundation in n1. But due to financial constraints, I had to find a cheaper alternative. After some research, I decided to try Rimmel's Lasting Finish 25 HR foundation.

I'm frustrated, though. I'm not getting the full coverage it claims to have, it only stays on reasonably well, and the application is extremely patchy. But the color match (light ivory) is PERFECT. Even better than the n1 shade. So I hate how disappointed I am.

The patchy application is what I hate the most. When you first apply it, it's tacky. Which is usually a good sign. But as I try to blend it out, the tackiness causes me to pull the product up rather than blend it out. That leads to "bald spots" on my face, and I can't stand it. The more I try to fix it, the worse it gets. I am facing a daily battle now. I've tried using Stridex pads beforehand, and I've tried applying a primer as well as a moisturizer beforehand. What am I doing wrong?? Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Because I can't afford to get anything else.

Help, please! And thank you!

Edit: For those of you asking, I apply with my clean fingertips. I make sure there is no product residue or dirt on my hands prior to application. I have always used my fingertips to apply foundation, and it has only recently been an issue. The kicker is that some of the reviews for Lasting Finish even recommend using your fingertips to apply.
