Just getting into high-end shadows. Important details inside. CCW.
Post Body

Alright, so I've never really had much money, and I've always been afraid of overdoing it with color. For those two reasons, I've never really had the chance to practice much of anything with eyeshadows. But I recently acquired some Urban Decay shadows, and I finally feel like I have room to gallop.

Last night was only the second time I used my Moondust palette "seriously" if that makes sense. When I first got it, I slapped on a few different color combinations just to try it out. But last night, I went to see a live music show at a bar, it was the perfect time to shine. I got a little sweaty, and I forgot to use setting spray. So that was my first mistake.

I took these pictures (sorry about the quality) after I did the sweating. So the texture of my skin is off, and the shadow has faded a bit, despite using a glitter glue. So here is a run-down of the mistakes I'm already aware of, especially now that I see my makeup on camera:

  • I'm not having a very good "eyebrow day." They originally came out too dark, so I faded them with a tiiiny bit of concealer, and ended up looking underdone at some point. It was a struggle.
  • I'm trying to use up the last bit of my blush before I open my new container. So it's hard to apply enough. That or the sweating made it look like I wasn't wearing any blush at all.
  • My foundation looks cakey because I was sweating and forgot to use setting spray before leaving the house.
  • My eyeshadow blending needs work, admittedly. Part of it could be because I am using a brush that is too big for my eyelid space. Part of it could be because it faded over the course of the night. Part of it could be user error.
  • My eyeliner looks awful, and I kind of hate that. It keeps the same arc shape, but just clumps up and slides off my lower lid. I used to use MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline in Blacktrack, but it did the same thing. Just not as badly as my current product.

I know I kind of already covered a lot, but CCW. I feel like I've gotten better but still have a long way to go.
