Ok, I know we get a lot of these and I'm really sorry but I couldn't think of any people better to ask.

I have a friend at work who is a single mom going through a rough divorce. She supports herself and her daughter just fine, but doesn't have a lot of extra money (and what she does have mostly goes to her daughter). She often comments on how pretty my makeup is and asks for advice, but she only owns four pieces of makeup (foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara). Since I know she would love to have eye shadows to play with (as this is the part of my makeup she comments on most often and mentioned the envy when my Bf bought me a palette for my Bday) I was thinking of getting her some for Christmas.

However, I'm only just learning how to get makeup to look good on me and I don't really know what colors would look good in her. I don't think I can buy her the same colors I favor as I'm a pale olive (I match to MUFE 117) and she's around a NC25-30.

I'm thinking of picking her up the RT eyeshadow starter brushes for $12 of Amazon and either a drugstore eyeshadow palette for like $20 or I found a small z palette on Amazon for $12.60 and I could put a few singles into it.

Do y'all have any suggestions?
