Using a Z Palette as a lip palette?

So, as my collection has grown, I've realized that I'm definitely more of a lip stick person than an eye shadow person.

I found these square metal pans and thought they'd be perfect for depotting some of my lipsticks into, but of course that means needing a place to keep the pans. I keep seeing these Z Palettes pop up here, so I was considering one of those.

Would a Z Palette be good for keeping lipsticks? And are they durable? I'd like to be able to throw this into my purse and not have to worry about getting lipstick all over the inside.
