So recently, I've been really excited to try liquid blush. It seems like the next best thing as well as an upgrade to my Loreal mineral wear blush. My mineral blush is fine, I've just been using it for like 20 years lol.
So when I got a Target gift card for my birthday, I went straight to Target's makeup section. I wanted to try elf's camo blush, but they were sold out of the shade I wanted. After a lengthy search, I finally found Maybelline SunKisser liquid blush. And I finally got to try it today.
The color is fine, but I'm second-guessing the formulation. I did my foundation and powder, then tried the blush. But maybe I did it wrong? Blending out the blush actually lifted the foundation off my face and left me with weird bald spots in my foundation! And I thought liquid blush was extremely pigmented. Like one small dot is more than enough. I had to use 3 dots and I still got only a subtle wash of color. You can barely see it.
Did I just choose a terrible product? Should I have applied blush BEFORE powder? Is liquid blush just not right for me? I'm confused.
For reference:
- I have very pale, oily skin, but it's pretty matte when I initially finish my makeup.
- Sunscreen used: Aveeno Naturals sunscreen (let it sink in before makeup)
- Foundation used: Revlon Colorstay (lightest shade) mixed with Sunset makeup in white to lighten
- Powder used: some kind of elf loose powder. The name escapes me at the moment.
- Blush used: Maybelline SunKisser liquid blush in Blazing Blush
