Okay so for context, I'm really pale. Like "I have to mix white into the lightest foundation" pale. (Every skin tone is valid and beautiful.)
So for a long time, I was using Coty Airspun. I loved their translucent extra coverage, because I'm pale yet a coverage queen.
Then things got pretty tight financially. And I know how stupid this is going to sound, so please don't come for me lol. But I thought I could save money and use baby powder as a setting powder. I filled an old loose powder container with baby powder and used a powder puff. Bad, I know. But this is what I did for years and years, and it seemed to be okay. It kept my makeup on longer, and I figured it was fine since I'm already so pale.
But lately people have been saying that when I wear makeup, it looks "ghostly." I thought maybe it was the foundation I was wearing, so I changed to a different foundation, and I'm still getting the "ghostly" comment. (It was always within the context of a conversation, not just a snarky, unsolicited jab.)
So now, as much as I should have known, I'm thinking it's probably the baby powder. The temptation to save money was always too great, as a giant container of baby powder is like $7 to $8 versus paying that same amount for a single pot of loose powder. But I don't wanna be "ghostly" so I think I just need to suck it up and buy actual loose powder.
So which one should I get? Coty Airspun apparently causes terrible flashback. Should I just get Cover Girl and call it a day? I've also heard good things about Maybelline Fit Me loose powder, but I'm not sure how expensive it is.
Thanks and sorry for the long post!
