total beginner here, wondering where to start

hi! i’ve pretty much only worn makeup like once or twice in my life but i’ve been wanting to get more into it lately. i have absolutely no clue where to start/what products and brands to look into/where to learn, and there’s so much information overload out there that i’m overall just confused haha. does anyone have any tips or pointers on where to start? thanks in advance!!
