I’ve had a James Charles palette since the summer and I’ve done many looks experimenting with the colors, and I’ve noticed they aren’t that great.
This could be user error, but they just don’t blend (especially the brighter shades). A dark and a light shade won’t blend together, and you can see a fine line of where the dark ends and the light starts.
If I try to pack a color on, it becomes patchy and it looks like like I just smeared eyeshadow on with my finger.
The shades are never pigmented like how they appear to be in James’ videos.
I normally put concealer on my eyes (I don’t own primer) and set it with white eyeshadow as I heard this helps the colors be more pigmented. I use the Jeffree Star brushes for eyeshadow. I’ve tried looks with the Mini-Controversy palette, and I don’t have any of the above issues.
Does anyone else have these problems? Am I doing something wrong?
