Overrated brands? RMS and Glossier
Post Body

After some recent purchases, I feel like it's time for a rant.

I'm super into the glowy creamy makeup. I just never thought that makeup - especially complexion products - with a lot of high coverage pigment in them looked good on me.

Enter RMS and Glossier, brands that by now have achieved cult status. Supposedly for the girls who just want that lived in slapped on makeup look that still looks great. Right? RIGHT???

Is it just me, or is the packaging for both RMS and Glossier really bad? RMS makes your makeup bag weigh a ton, and it's difficult to find the right product, since everything looks the same! Glossier is cheaper than cheap, Maybelline has way better packaging. Boy Brow looks like it's been though hell and back after only 1 month of use!!

And the formular ... RMS products just doesn't mix well, they always layer weirdly (even when you only wear RMS). They're very oily, and will separate in the can, even when completely new. Your Living Luminizer will develop a layer of oil you'll have to dig through when you use it.

Glossier is just so ... meh. They kinda have this image as super easy to use no makeup makeup. It is easy, but it still kinda looks like makeup? How can a product be so sheer and still look like makeup? I've had medium coverage foundations that look more natural. Boy Brow dries out quickly, and the blushes don't blend well.

Enter Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, Nudestix Blush and Bronzer and Hourglass Brow Gel. Pretty much most things from those brands. The packaging is awesome, the products are invisible on the skin but lasts. The formulae work with everything.

I know RMS is completely natural, and therefore more unstable. But brands like Kjær Weis has better packaging and their formular does not separate like RMS.

Of course this is only my opinion, and I'm sure that there are lots of people who enjoy Glossier and RMS.

It just bothers me.

What do you guys think?
