Hi There. 1st off- I'm new to the subreddit but I came in because I'm 40 and I don't understand makeup. I tried to do a search, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I'm not trying to get all super fancy- I'm too lazy for that. But I'd love to do a little more than the nothing I currently do. I have mascara and eyeliner figured out. Mostly. What I'd dearly like to figure out is an affordable lipstick/lip stain that will go on and stay there. I have tried many things over the years but either they feather out from my thin lips, or smudge out when I drink leaving a crazy person lipstick smile from my outer corners, or fade off from the inner lip first leaving a weird outline (by far my most common result). Sometimes they kind of....flake? off and leave spots of color and regular lip all mixed up (most recently with Kat Von D's lip stain). I do exfoliate my lips every couple days normally anyway. I'm not really afraid to try strong colors, per se, but I am afraid to try them if I'm going to wind up with weird half- colored lips that look stupid. Please- any advise would be awesome, but keep it easy. I don't mind a 2 step process, or even a 2 combo of different items, if it's easy but also if it WILL WORK. But also- mostly what I need is HOW do I put on the right stuff the right way so it will STAY PUT? I am Caucasian with light olive skin in case that helps. Skin is a bit oily, but I keep that under control mostly with a prescription oral medication. I'm also up for product recommendations. I don't have $50 to drop on a product though.
