Makeup help!

I (F30), never wear makeup, because I don't like wearing it. However, I would like to be able to wear it on nights out, but I have no idea what makeup people even wear nowadays, or how to do it. I used to wear makeup everyday (foundation and mascara) in my early 20s, but it's been awhile. Any advice? Should I just get foundation and mascara? Do people wear blush? Should I? What about eyeshadow? And eyeliner? Somebody help! :P
