hello!

how are you? good, i hope?

in the last few years, i've moved from sheffield to north wales, from north wales to manchester, from manchhester to lancaster, and from lancaster to birmingham. so, i've moved around quite a lot, and, along the way, i've collected a BA, PGCE, and an MA, but i've kinda ended up with no friends! gah!

so - here i am on reddit, i guess??

a bit about me:

i live in birmingham for the moment, but i don't have a lot going on here. so, i think i'm gunna head back up to sheffield asap. probably won't be able to do this anytime soon, though! i expect i'll still be in brum this time next year!

in my 20s and 30s, i worked in a library and i played bass (and 'sang') in a couple of bands (kinda punky, noisy ones. short songs, played fast, yunno?). i still work in a library, but, i'm not in a band any more! BUT! i still make music (however, i now make long songs, played slow. i don't get many gig offers!). i'd love to play in a band again, though (say hi if you play drums!)

artists i've been listening to recently incllude: low, labradford, arab strap, boards of canada, seefeel, and brian eno.

i went to art school as a younger guy, but got kicked out. yus! but i'm now trying to learn how to use a graphic design app. if you use affinity, i could do with your help!

i try to take myself to the cinema once a week, but it's been months since i saw anything VERY good (the holdovers, which was out at the very beginning of the year!). i'm into allsorts of films, classics, blockbusters, and indies; french new wave, british kitchen sink, and italian neo-realism!

anyway, i don't want this post to be too long, so i'll shurrup now!
