Post Body

Hi there!

I moved to London about 4 months ago. I'm eager to explore the city and have a healthy social life beyond work. I'm an American working a normal weekly schedule, but also finishing up a Masters. While I am a busy bee, I'd like to make some friends to enjoy different experiences this city has to offer.

Some Stats:

About me,

  • Living and working in: SE1
  • My personality: I believe I am an open-minded and fair person. I am somewhat of an extroverted introvert. I find comfort and energy by myself but I love to learn from others and I know I have the most fun sharing it. I have diverse interests, yet I probably enjoy the arts the most, like going out to film festivals, art museums/galleries, music venues, food markets, poetry readings...to name a few. I'm an optimist that likes to talk about world affairs; having grown up in the Washington D.C. area I am not shy about politics, policy, or current events lol. But I'm not only about that either (it's hard to write a description of your personality and interests without putting a bold line around an imaginary box 🙈).
  • Interests I'd like to share with potential friends: It could be anywhere from going to dance classes together, or life drawing sessions, to just meeting up in a park/ cute coffee shop/ cocktail place or trying out a restaurant together! I'm also aware that some of these things might involve spending money and I hope that if we go out we are doing things too that are mindful of the other person's budget.
  • Availability: I moved to the city for work and I'm passionate about what I do. I mainly would be available during the weekends, though if we live somewhat close, it would be fun to do things during the week as well. If you're a bit like me who likes study buddies, another idea could be meeting up to work together in a library ;)
  • How far am I willing to travel?: I have noticed a lot of commuting in London is about an hour or so for most places, with some Tube/bus delays...so while I'm happy to make the trip to different places, I do think a friendship would be more continuous if we are not too far from each other. Either that, or both of us are making the effort to balance distances each time.
  • How long will I be in London: Until August! I hope this doesn't turn a good friendship away, but it must be said haha

Looking For,

  • Age bracket: 25-45 (honestly, if we vibe I'm very open to any age)
  • Gender: As stated in the subject line, I do have a preference for other women but I'm also flexible here. You could be any gender (nonbinary, cisgender, genderfluid, etc.). I think the two things to keep in mind: I am looking strictly for friendship, so any men who are interested should respect this boundary; and ideally I would love to do more feminine things lol I am someone who enjoys dressing up just because and who leans into her femininity, so having a partner in crime only makes it funner. Having said this, if you are not a feminine person, that's okay with me as well, we shouldn't be carbon copies!
  • Culture / upbringing / nationality: Any :)

If you'd like to reach out, please provide a description that lets me know who you are and what you like to do (i.e. your "stats"). Include where you live in the city and availability.

Looking forward to meeting friends!

TL;DR: Girly American expat looking for friends in London interested in exploring the city and hanging out IRL.
