First, I'd like to say that I just connect with women more than men. I always have. I have a couple of close friends, but one is very busy with multiple jobs and is too cynical to be uplifting, and the other has a family and lives in another state pretty far from me. That leaves a lot of acquaintances that I'm not that close with.
I'm nearing the end of a long divorce that I didn't want, and depression and anxiety are things I've always dealt with. They're just amplified now. I don't really want to talk about just that. It would be nice to be able to unload some of that on occasion, but honestly, what I need is a friend to talk to daily, someone that will initiate conversation sometimes and keep it going when I initiate it.
I'd be cool moving to voice chat or phone calls or whatever if we seem to click. For now, just a chat friend would be fine. I'm at a really low point with the holidays...first holiday season alone. Thankfully, I'm going home for Christmas, but I could still use a sympathetic friend. If you happen to be in Florida, that's great, and maybe we'd eventually meet in person.
