What are people from Maine like?

Post Body

I have visited Maine once back in 2015 with my family on.a northeast trip. It brings back a lot of nostalgia for me still to this day. What I liked most about the state is the mild climate and the scenery. From Michigan here but hate hot weather so coming in late July and experiencing 65-70 days was beautiful.

Since I was 16 at the time I didn't really go out and talk to people aside from tourists. I would imagine people from Maine are educated, friendly yet straight to the point (almost like Irish). Friendlier than New Yorkers I'm sure but not too friendly (which is a good thing).

Is it like the Northwest coast without terrible politically correct people?
