Are there any places in Maine that have a particularly strong French influence?

Post Body

Hi All - I've recently been fascinated by the French influence on the United States and Canada. Are there any areas in Maine (or New England in general) that feel more French than others? Or is French culture largely diluted/assimilated by now? I'd also be interested in hearing about any museums or cultural centers that are trying to keep any remaining French heritage alive. Thanks!

Edit: Thank you all! I'm reading through all these responses and finding them so interesting. There's definitely a lot of Maine history that isn't common knowledge from an outsider's perspective. Looking forward to eventually making a visit to some of these places!
