For those of you who aren't familiar, the so called libertarian EU has recently approved in a move that somehow hasn't made it into the mainstream media a law that allows service providers to voluntarily scan the content of the users for "child pornography". The part which is even less seen is the fact that the EU is going to force service providers to do so with their next initiative (backdoors into "e2e-encrypted" messaging services such as WhatsApp included).
I wonder if I could have a clear statement about this from Mailfence (as one of your users). Are you aware of this issue and are you already performing such scans voluntarily? Will you comply with any future regulations obliging you to scan the content of your users' emails? Are we all doomed to resort to our own self-hosted email servers on good-ol' self-manged rack servers?
