Post Body

The #EU Parliament wants to ban encryption in an attempt to combat child sexual abuse. Even though we condemn child sexual abuse, #Mailfence and other EU tech firms have written an open letter explaining that mass surveillance is not the right approach. 🔓👁️ For this to work, online communications would be screened to identify criminals.

However, #masssurveillance has not prevented criminal activities at all. #Encryption is the only defense legitimate citizens have against surveillance and taking that away from them is a huge step backward.
