So I've been wanting to edit together media franchises like Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in accordance with their timelines as soon as I got a new computer which I finally got. As I started messing around with download a bunch of free Linux editing programs I noticed a subtitle composer. I just started learning Japanese via Duolingo a few months ago because why the hell not. This got me thinking that maybe I should use the Mahouka franchise as a project to learn everything on. It's much smaller in scope and doesn't have an incredibly intricate timeline but I could try cutting together all 2/3 seasons of The Irregular at Magic High School along with the 2 movies and 1 season of The Honour at Magic High School.
If I could get a hold of the Japanese scripts I could use them as additional practice as I learn Japanese and could make my own subtitles in the style of the fan translated light novels and manga (i.e. with honorifics, surname-given name format, etc). Depending on how difficult it is I might even make the subtitles in both US-English and International-English versions as well as true closed captioning instead of just plain old subtitles.
So if anybody knows where I could find what I'm looking for since I'm not having any luck as of yet... Thank you in advance. I'm looking forward to trying everything out on my new computer and testing it with one of my favorite anime/(Japanese)franchises.
