Post Body

I initially found this flush 10 days ago( first two pics) I came back to it today (last five pics) the clusters of the underside of the log still looked pretty fresh. I feel fairly confident that I have narrowed these down to a Gymnopilus species. I'm leaning towards Gymnopilus Luteus. Found in northern Indiana. Spores are rust brown, smells of anise, taste/spit test is bitter. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience IDing Gymnopilus species?
