Let’s stop saying it’s one card it’s not and banning one card won’t fix the problem, as another card will just take its place. What we need is mass banning. This is my personal of 20 cards that need to get banned. Starting with cards that need no explanation and leading to cards that definetly need bans in my opinion but not all would agree. Feel free to comment and leave your list down below.

12. Genesis ultimatum - no - free casting !!!!!

13. Anax hardened in the forge- it’s either this or torbran . this gives you protection from a board wipe so you could just slam torbran next turn and hit for a million damage. Furthermore it warps how you play against red because it instantly becomes priority issue. You can make the arguement for torbran over this, but if you kill torbran it’s gon amazing lingers. Mono red shouldn’t get rewarded for over extending

14. Thieves guild enforcer - dimir roughed needs a serious downgrade if we ban uro, ugin and everything above other wise it will be 99 percent of the meta like fervent champion if you get 2 down it’s really hard to stop, but get 3 down your opponent is dead.

15. Fabled passage - “fetch lands are too strong for standard” the fixes mana with little repercussions and double triggers land fall.

16. Drown in the Lock- honestly a bonkers card that should cost 3 it’s mana cost is to low. If we ban uro ugin and omnath with out a dress the rogues deck then their will be a serious problem. It both counters and kills. It just a Swiss Army knife.

17. Cultivate ramps, garuntees 5th land and creates card advantage, it is by far superior to

18. Felidar reservation - it’s field of the dead as a white enchantment minus the restrictions needing 7 different lands.

19. Stonecoil serpent, it’s an x spell that every color has access to that is super strong has protection from multicolor and from ugin can slip into any deck, and it breaks the color pie by circumventing it.

20. Questing beast, with war of spark gone I see this as a little less problematic but it still is a brick of text that can’t get chump block and doesn’t need to attack a planes walker to deal damage to it , has vigilance death touch and haste, over all it’s just to much

Honorable mention. Angel of destiny, with everything on this list banned, mono white life gain will rise, and honestly people are probably sleeping on this card so hard , we have seen how easy it is for white to gain life, and deal damage respectively, now imagine giving this life gain with heliod, you gain 8 life just of of you angel not including anything else with life gain that makes Italy through doubling the life gained. This is probably a sleeper card waiting to be broken and be broken it will.

Edit : For those who can’t tell this list is in response to the fact that people are always complaining about what card is next to ban, you can make a arguement for any card on this list.

Personally I think it’s crazy that people are talking about banning omnath before its released on paper. I beleive people are unhappy with standard for one of 2 reasons , they think the power level is to high or they want to see more deck diversity. This is in response to those who complain about power level, there unless you mass ban all of these card there will always be problems and there will be more new unseen problems after you ban them all.

That said if I was trying to depower standard these are the 20 cards I would ban.
