Hello Magical Reddit,
I feel like I'm a bad spectator and think that may hinder my enjoyment of a Conclave I'm going to soon. I am almost a complete novice when it comes to magic, but I've always been a behind-the-scenes stagecrew type guy.
When I'm shown a trick I tend to get quiet and hyper-aware of my surroundings. Then once the trick plays out, which I genuinely love and enjoy and cherish, it takes me a moment to react like a normal person. I always see the magician's face do a sad little "let down" look.
I know suspension of disbelief is what I need, but do you have any advice past that on being a good spectator?
Also other general advice is welcome too
