"Interference Unit" - Mistranslation?

Post Body

It seems to me that "interference" must be a mistranslation. It actually means to "interfere or be interfered with," which is not in keeping with the stated purpose of simply "observing and touching to gather knowledge."

I think the actual meaning is closer to inference, "a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning." Given that their purpose is to gather raw data for analysis, it makes more sense.

Anyone familiar with the original Japanese name?
