Goalline Fade. Lob or Bullet? And when to throw it?

In real life I don't think I've ever seen the fade thrown as a bullet. It's always an over the top throw as the wr goes to the edge. I've only executed it twice successfully(but 1 was apparently out of bounds eve if marshall took 3 steps before going out of bounds.) I'm too afraid to bullet it because it seems like an easy pick for the opponent. Whenever I see yt videos on goalline tutorials it seems like most of those catches are more luck based.
